Your jewellery: Identity and Materials
The origin of your part
Every piece of Honu jewellery is unique, handcrafted by Isabelle Bénatouil, a jewellery artist.
This booklet contains the identifying details specific to your piece of jewellery: its name, workshop reference, category and, where applicable, whether it belongs to the Prestige Collection or a numbered limited edition.
This information enables your piece to be accurately identified and ensures its traceability.
Absolute transparency on the precious materials
The booklet then details, with the rigour of a professional atelier, the origin and characteristics of the precious materials that compose your piece.
For the metal, the booklet specifies the legal fineness stamped on the piece, its colour, weight and designation. In Europe, the recognised legal fineness for silver in Jewellery is 925; it is this fineness that appears on the hallmark of all my creations, whether they actually contain 925 silver or 950 silver, in accordance with European regulations. The recycled nature of the material is also indicated.
As for the jewellery, the booklet specifies its exact description. In the case of Tahitian pearls, for example, it details their shape, dimensions, grade according to the Polynesian classification system, lustre and origin – always sourced from a partner pearl farm in French Polynesia, selected according to strict criteria.
When a gemstone adorns your jewellery, its gemmological name, cut, carat weight, dimensions, origin and type (natural, synthetic or man-made) are clearly stated.
The hallmark: a government guarantee
All Honu jewellery in solid silver or 18-carat gold bears the legal hallmark, issued and certified by the Lisbon Assay Office (INCM Portuguesa), the Portuguese public authority authorised to inspect articles made of precious metals. This hallmark, microscopic yet verifiable, certifies that the metal’s fineness has been independently verified outside the workshop. Find out more about the Portuguese Contrastaria.
A signed commitment
Your piece of jewellery is a unique creation, handcrafted in the Honu Handmade Jewellery workshop, without casting or any other forms of casting.

The booklet's value day to day
Please keep your certificate safe with your jewellery. You will need it for a gemmological valuation or if you decide to sell the piece.
A duplicate can be sent on simple request to the atelier.
PLEASE NOTE: This booklet accompanies your jewellery and details the precious materials from which it is made, as well as their origin. It does not replace a Identity and Materials Booklet, an analysis report or a grading document issued by a recognised independent gemmological laboratory, such as the GIA, the Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie, the SSEF, Gübelin Gem Lab, HRD Antwerp or IGI, for the stones, pearls or other adornments comprising the piece.
It is a testament to my word, my transparency and my good faith.
