Honu Handmade Jewellery at the Milano Jewelry Week 2026: the joy of first international recognition
I’ve just returned from Milan. Six pieces were exhibited at the Palazzo Bovara during Milano Jewelry Week 2026, along with two international publications, encounters and an interview for the Journal des Bijoux.
I’ve just returned from Milan, feeling very moved and having had some encounters that I’ll remember for a long time to come.
Seeing my designs on display at the Palazzo Bovara, discovering how they feature in the event’s publications, seeing them being worn, and sharing my work with fellow enthusiasts: taking part in Milano Jewelry Week marks an important milestone in my journey as a designer and in the history of Honu Handmade Jewellery.
Milan: an international jewellery event
The Milano Jewelry Week (MJW) took place from 20 to 26 October 2026. During this week dedicated to jewellery, Milan hosted exhibitions, meetings and events bringing together designers, jewellery industry professionals, galleries, buyers, journalists, collectors and enthusiasts.
It was as part of this event that my six pieces selected for ARTISTAR Jewels were exhibited at the Palazzo Bovara from 24 to 26 October. Dedicated to artistic jewellery and creative exploration, this exhibition brings together international artists and designers with very different styles and backgrounds.
Presenting my work there allowed me to share it with an audience who had come to discover unique approaches, craftsmanship and creations that reflect the artist’s perspective.

From the workshop in Lisbon to the display cases at the Palazzo Bovara
The Totem Luth, Vaihau, Mata'i'oa and Impact pendants, as well as the Origine and Alien rings, have made the journey to Milan. Six pieces that I have shaped by hand and which showcase different facets of my creative world.
In the workshop, I know each piece intimately through the gestures that gave it form. I remember the metal being worked, the adjustments, the textures, and the time spent finding the balance I seek. Discovering them all together in the display cases at the Palazzo Bovara allowed me to take a step back and reflect on this work.
I felt a great sense of pride. I also realised just how far I’ve come since my early days as a self-taught designer.
For me, this international selection is a valuable source of encouragement to continue pursuing a very personal approach: working directly with the material, without casting or casting, and allowing each piece of jewellery to express its own character. For Honu Handmade Jewellery, it marks a new phase of visibility amongst an international audience with an appreciation for designer jewellery and handcrafted craftsmanship.
Honu Handmade Jewellery’s designs featured in two international publications
This involvement is reflected in the pages of two publications: the official book ARTISTAR Jewels 2026 and THE JEWELRY DROPS.
The six designs on display are featured in the book ARTISTAR Jewels 2026. Four pieces have also been selected for THE JEWELRY DROPS: the Eugénie necklace and the Totem Luth, Vaihau and Impact pendants.
Discovering my creations on these pages was another highlight of the trip. There is a special feeling in seeing one’s work published alongside that of other international designers. The pieces leave the familiar surroundings of the workshop and are seen by new eyes.
These publications serve as a record of this initial international recognition. They also help to raise awareness of Honu Handmade Jewellery beyond the exhibition dates, amongst professionals and readers who consult them.

Encounters, exchanges and plenty of spontaneity
My memories of Milan will be of some wonderful encounters. Conversations about working with materials, our individual journeys and our shared passion for jewellery gave the event a very human touch.
It has been a great pleasure to chat with people from other countries, discover their worlds and share mine with them. These moments allow us to put faces and stories to the creations.
The meeting with Laura Astrologo Porché, founder of Journal des Bijoux, and Chiara Fambrini, a national pre-finalist of Miss Italia, holds a special place in these memories.
I had the honour of seeing them wear my designs. The preparations, fittings and alterations all took place in a cheerful atmosphere, filled with laughter and plenty of spontaneity. I shall cherish the memory of that camaraderie for a long time to come.
For me, seeing a piece of jewellery being worn is always a special moment. Its shape, its movement and its presence are revealed in a different light. Being able to experience that with Laura in Milan was a real joy.
My interview with Laura Astrologo Porché for the Journal des Bijoux
This trip also provided an opportunity for an interview with Laura Astrologo Porché for the Journal des Bijoux.
Being able to showcase my work to a journalist who specialises in the world of jewellery is a valuable and very rewarding experience. Her interest and the opportunity she has given Honu Handmade Jewellery to connect with its audience mean a great deal to me.
This exchange is one of the lovely memories I have of taking part in Milano Jewelry Week. I’m delighted to be able to share it with you.

Back to the workshop with this energy
I’m returning from Milan filled with gratitude, pride and a desire to continue my work. This experience gives me confidence that Honu Handmade Jewellery can find its place amongst those who love unique jewellery and handcrafted craftsmanship.
Thank you to Milano Jewelry Week, to Prodes Italia for organising the event, and to everyone we met on this trip for the moments we shared, as well as to all those who have supported Honu Handmade Jewellery since its inception.
Today I’m back in my studio with these images in mind, and looking forward to bringing my next creations to life.
