Article: Honu Handmade Jewellery, My Identity, My DNA

Honu Handmade Jewellery, My Identity, My DNA

Honu Handmade Jewellery is an artisanal jewelry brand founded by Isabelle B. Each piece in sterling silver 925 and Tahitian pearls is hand-forged, without molding. Three collections (Lagon, Brut, Joséphine B.) express distinct universes. The name Honu comes from the Polynesian turtle, symbol of longevity and protection.

My Signature, My DNA

I am Isabelle B., a self-taught jewellery designer and artisan, heir to a family passion. As the granddaughter of a metalworker and daughter of an apprentice jeweler, I have always been driven by a passion for metal and its gradual transformation. Unfortunately, these two men left us far too soon and never showed me or taught me their craft. So I learned on my own, and late in life.

My profession, my passion

I chose to turn my outlet into a profession, to evolve towards a passionate world of my own: handmade jewellery (without any molding), made primarily from solid silver and authentic Tahitian pearls.

My method
100% Handcrafted

Each piece is forged, sculpted, shaped, and polished by hand in my workshop in Portugal. I use ancestral and traditional jewellery-making techniques.

My Choice
No molding, no mass production

Each piece of jewellery is entirely handmade, from the first cut of the saw to the final finish. There is only one version of it, just as there is only one you.
Each piece is its own original, unique in essence.

My Materials Precious
Metals and Ornaments of Choice

Solid silver is at the heart of my creations. I chose it for its nobility and for the unique patina it acquires over the years.
Enhanced by genuine Tahitian pearls, my creations are the result of the perfect union between these two materials.

My Creative Freedom, My Instinct
Honu Against the Grain

Unlike most designers who sketch and plan each step, I often give way to my instinct and inspiration of the moment; this is my creative freedom.

Sometimes I create a piece of jewellery from a creative accident, an unexpected technical glitch that becomes an original, unique, and above all, impossible to reproduce piece of jewellery.

My Style and Identity

I give free rein to my creative freedom through an eclectic style that combines modernity and traditional techniques.

My creations reflect my DNA and my commitment to quality. I have chosen not to use molds or mass production. For me, this is where the magic of jewellery lies. My pieces are singular, authentic, and above all, unique. Even if I recreate a model, the result will never be exactly the same as the first.

My Jewellery, Your Distinction

My jewellery is for people who want to be the only ones to wear it. For those who are looking for a presence, a mark, an original work (in the true sense of the word) that reflects who they are. My pieces follow the path of those who love craftsmanship, the nobility of materials, and details that stand out, that speak... but without shouting.
